I celebrated Dumchi (Sherpa's annual celebration) for the second time, this year held in Namche. Dumchi is a day or time of religious significance that recurs at regular intervals. It is a religious commemoration held annually in the same place. Also, it is the main community festival and ritual of Sherpas living in Khumbu.
So, while choosing for today's post, I hands down went with this stunning raw-silk bakhu and silk honju. Bakhu is the traditional dress of Sherpas, Tibetans and other buddhists.. Our identity is also expressed through our cultural clothes and jewelleries. I'm the biggest fan when it comes to silk bakhus. So, I literally spent all my money on bakhus. lol. I am a city girl, born and raised however Namche and the festival will always be in my heart. The celebrations will always be a part of the fond memories that I will reminisce about.
Hope you guys like the post..
Enjoy the photos :)
